New Beginners Courses With Glasgow Running Network →

Glaswegians looking to take up running will have the opportunity to join Glasgow's Running Network with a series of beginner running groups starting on September 13. The groups will run through a course of 10 weeks, with progressing sessions throughout the duration of the course. Groups will meet weekly at the following Glasgow Club locations:

Edinburgh Marathon 2011 Now Open →

Entries are now being taken for the Edinburgh Marathon Festival (EMF) in Association with Oxfam. Public entries opened for all events over the weekend of May 21/22, which will include a full marathon, team relay, EMF half marathon, EMF 10K, EMF 5K, Junior EMF and an International Breakfast Run.

The sun was out in Paisley on Sunday as the town's 10K Road Race and Fun Run were a fantastic success, with more than 1500 runners taking part across the two races. Over 1100 racers competed in the 10K event, which was won by Eritriean runner Tsegai Tewelde, of Shettleston Harriers, in 30:17. 400 runners took to the 3K Fun Run, with Gryffe High pupil, Euan Gillham, taking the title there.

Race organisers of the Men's Health Forum Scotland (MHFS) 10K For Men have confirmed that the 2011 event in Glasgow will take place once more on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19 2011. The 10K For Men always has a great atmosphere, as families come along to support their dads, sons and brothers.

Runners took to the Aberdeenshire countryside yesterday in the Peterhead Marathon Oil 10K, in windy but dry conditions. 80 runners finished the race, with several running with local running groups and clubs in Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Aberdeen.

A new yoga for runners course will be starting soon at Balance, Glasgow's first yoga centre, with a specialist course to help runners stretch and strengthen the muscles most used for running, as well as teaching runners some breathing techniques to help them run faster and longer.
